Description
This property comprises a house and cottage, now divided into three dwellings, located in Main Street, Westerdale. The buildings were constructed in the later 18th century, with two distinct builds. They are constructed of coursed, squared, and tooled sandstone. The roof on the Post Office and the northern cottage have been renewed with modern concrete pantiles, while the southern cottage retains clay pantiles. Stone stacks, copings, kneelers, and corniced chimneys are present at the ends and the junction of the buildings.
The buildings are two storeys high and feature 2, 2, and 1 bays respectively. The Post Office has a half-glazed panelled door, while the other entrances are boarded. Two 19th-century sash windows are present, along with several modern casement windows. Sprocketed eaves are visible. The kneelers include one square and one pointed design.
The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
