Description

Box House is a house that dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared tooled sandstone and features a pantiled roof with a stone ridge, gable copings, kneelers, and stacks. The building has two storeys and two bays. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed four-panel door. Below this, there are late 19th-century sash windows with extended keyed lintels, while early 19th-century sash windows are located above. The roof was raised, and three additional top courses were added to the front, likely in the early 19th century. The house also has cornice-banded end chimneys.
