Description
Hill Garth is a house dating from the late 18th century, constructed from coursed squared tooled stone. It features a pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and stacks. The building may have originally served as both a house and a barn. It stands two storeys high with three wide bays. The entrance is a half-glazed door located in the hearth-passage position. There are six 19th-century four-pane sash windows. The door and the right-hand windows are adorned with heavy lintels that have well-cut false voussoirs. The left bay contains a blocked doorway with a heavy lintel and a blocked vent slit. The eaves are slightly swept, and there are square kneelers. The chimneys at both ends and behind the passage are corniced.
