Description
Westland, formerly known as The Craggan, is a house and cottage that has been combined into one dwelling. It dates from the early and later 18th century and is constructed of coursed squared tooled sandstone. The building features a pantiled roof with stone copings, kneelers, and stacks. It stands two storeys high and has one bay on the left side and two bays on the right. The older cottage part on the left includes a door set in a small gabled porch, with windows on the returns, and a garage door at the far left. The right side has 4-pane sash windows with projecting cills on both floors, with those on the ground floor positioned under heavy lintels. The gables have copings on square kneelers, and there are corniced stacks at both ends and at the junction of the two sections.
