Description
The farm buildings located to the south-west of Hawthorn House date from the early 19th century and consist of a byre, stable, and cartshed with haylofts. They are constructed from coursed squared sandstone featuring herringbone tooling and have Welsh slate roofs. The buildings are arranged in an L-plan and include both 1-storey and 1½-storey sections.
The main west range is 1½ storeys on the left and 1 storey on the right. It features six rebated stable doors, two small windows (one of which is blocked), and a pitching door located under the eaves. At the south end, there is a 1-storey link that connects to a 3-bay cartshed, which has three cart arches with heavy lintels and canted corners. There are also two loft doors under the eaves, which may indicate the presence of a granary.
These buildings are included for their group value. A 20th-century brick extension to the north is not considered of interest.
