Description

CONEYSTHORPE MALTON ROAD SE 77 SW (south side) 6/20 Castle Howard Estate Yard Office and joiners' shop GV II Office and joiners' shop. Early C19. Hammer-dressed sandstone, Welsh slate roof. L-shaped on plan with office to left, and joiners' shop to right. Single-storey office, 2-storey joiners' shop. Left gable end: paired round- arched 8-pane sashes in keyed surrounds with imposts. Left return: 6-panel door with fanlight flanked by round-arched 8-pane sashes all in keyed stone surrounds with imposts. Gable coping, corniced rear stack. Joiners' shop: 2 storeys, 4 bays with single-storey bay adjoining to right. Elliptical- arched carriage entrance to left. To right: double-leaf board door beneath divided fanlight, and 9-pane elliptical-arched fixed windows throughout, all in keyed stone surrounds with imposts. Gable coping, shaped kneelers and end stack to 2-storey section.
