Description

HENDERSKELFE SOUTH PARTERRE SE 7169 Castle Howard 12/69 Kylix and pedestal approximately 65 metres north-east of Atlas Fountain GV II Kylix and the pedestal on which it stands. Early C19. From designs by C H Tatham. Sandstone. Approximately 3 metres in height. One step to pedestal with moulded base, sunk panels with waterleaf borders and quadripartite acanthus motif to centre. Bead and ovolo frieze with egg-and- dart moulded cornice. Fluted kylix with lipped rim. Included for group value. Hussey C, English Gardens and Landscapes 1700-1750, 1967.
