Description
The gate piers, walls, gates, and railings at the entrance of Ray Wood are likely from the early 18th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and rubble brought to course, featuring wrought-iron gates and railings. The design includes pairs of square-section gate piers with plinths, sunk panels, moulded cornices, and ball finials, which are connected by low coped walls. The right wall incorporates railings, while the anterior walls are low coped and angled, containing stone seats at their midpoints and terminating in quadrants.
