Description
The Boar Garden Urn and Pedestal is located approximately 30 metres north-east of the statue of the Wild Boar at Castle Howard. This structure dates from the mid to late 18th century and is made of sandstone, standing about 3 metres tall. It features two steps leading up to a pedestal that has a moulded base, panels with frosted rustication, and a moulded cornice. Atop the pedestal is a globular urn decorated with festoons and topped with a floral finial. The site is included in the Register of Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England, specifically noted for its significance in North Yorkshire.
