Description
Milestone located approximately 0.5 miles east of the junction with Lowfield Road. This milestone dates from the 19th century and is made of ashlar with a cast-iron facade. It has a triangular shape with a semi-circular head and stands about 0.75 metres high. The raised inscription is painted black against a white background, reading 'SELBY AND LEEDS / TURNPIKE ROAD' around the head, 'LEEDS / 15 / MILES' on the east face, and 'SELBY / 5 / MILES' on the west face.
