Description
The Methodist Church, built in 1845 with later additions and alterations, is constructed from magnesian limestone ashlar with a rendered porch and a Welsh slate roof. It is a single tall storey building featuring a slightly taller and projecting pedimented central section that has two bays, flanked by single bay wings, with the right wing canted at the end. The church has a plinth and quoins. The central entrance consists of a double door with six fielded panels beneath a fanlight that has radial glazing bars, all set within a pedimented porch. On either side of the entrance are tall 18-pane sash windows with radial glazing in the heads, positioned under round arches with keystones. The remaining windows are 12-pane sashes with radial glazing in the heads, also under round arches. An ocular window is located in the pediment. The wings feature a modillion eaves band, and the pediment is topped with coping and a ball finial at its apex.
