Description
Prebendal House is a house dating from around 1425, with extensive later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughcast magnesian limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof with pantiles at the rear, along with rendered brick stacks. The house has an outshut at the rear and a 20th-century porch that is of no particular interest. It stands two storeys high and has three first-floor windows. The central entrance is framed by a double chamfered pointed surround, leading to a 19th-century door. The windows throughout the house are 19th-century mullion and transom types, with four and three lights on the ground floor and two lights on the first floor. There is a raking dormer window with a Yorkshire sash, and the building is adorned with stone kneelers and coping, as well as end stacks.
Inside, the house features 19th-century panelling in the ground floor room to the left and some in the stairwell. The roof structure includes a crown post with a collar purlin and two strutted side purlins, all of which are wind braced.
