Description
This milestone, located approximately 200 meters west of Bar Lane, is likely from the early 19th century. It is a stone post standing about 0.75 meters high, with a triangular shape and a round-arched top. The milestone features a cast iron plaque with inscriptions in relief, painted black on a white background. On the east face, it reads "LEEDS / 16 / MILES," while the west face states "SELBY / 4 / MILES." Additionally, the words "SELBY AND LEEDS / TURNPIKE ROAD" are inscribed around the head of the milestone.
