Description

This is a milepost located on the west side of the B1363 road in Marton-cum-Moxby, dating from the late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a hollow-backed, triangular-sectioned design with a sloping top plate. The top plate has raised lettering that reads "BULMER/WEST/H.D." On the left side, there is a pointing hand indicating "HELMSLEY/11/MILES," and on the right side, another pointing hand shows "YORK/12/MILES."
