Description
Cottage Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, although it has undergone significant alterations, including a full-height extension to the right side in the 20th century and rebuilding at the rear. The building is constructed of pale red-brown local brick and features a pantile roof, with a renewed rear pitch and stacks at both ends and the ridge. It stands two storeys tall and was originally two bays with an outshot at the rear. The original entrance at one end has been blocked, and the current entrance is located in the center of the original section, featuring a 20th-century six-panel door. The windows include 16-pane sashes set in flush wood architraves, with a three-course bond on the first floor, and Yorkshire sashes with small panes above. The eaves are stepped and dentilled. Inside, the farmhouse displays beamed ceilings and a large fireplace supported by a timber bressummer.
