Description

Kelham Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with an early 19th-century extension and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof, with a single ridge and a right gable red brick stack. The right gable displays tumbled brickwork, and both gables are raised and have brick copings with kneelers. The left side has dentil eaves and two 19th-century bays. The right side has eight bays set on a plinth, with a first-floor band.

The building is two storeys high and consists of four bays. The doorway features a panelled door with a glazing bar over light. To the right of the doorway is a single glazing bar casement, and to the left is a single glazing bar fixed light under a segmental arch. Above these are three glazing bar Yorkshire sashes, with the rightmost sash being slightly smaller.

Projecting from the left is a two-storey red brick wing from the 19th and 20th centuries, which has a flat roof and a single red brick stack. The side or east wall of this wing contains a doorway with a plank door under a segmental arch, and to the left are two 20th-century casements. Above are two additional 20th-century casements.

Attached to the end wall of this wing is a 19th-century brick and pantile lean-to, which includes a doorway with a plank door in the side wall. There is also a barn attached to the right, which is of no special interest. The interior features many beams, including a chamfered beam with stops in the room to the right of the doorway.
