Description
The Globe Inn is a public house located in Kendal's Market Place. It is a late 20th-century reproduction that was created after extensive fire damage to the original 18th-century building. The exterior features incised stucco with rusticated quoins and a jettied front supported by brackets. The eaves are cavetto, and there is a moulded cast-iron gutter. The roof is made of graduated slate, and there is a rendered, corniced chimney at the west end. The building has three storeys and three bays. The entrance includes a panelled door set in an architrave, with a paired window to the left and two windows to the right. Each upper floor contains three windows, all of which are 20th-century casements set in architraves. The Globe Inn is noted for its significant position within the townscape.
