Description
The Prince Albert Public House is an early 19th-century public house located on High Street in Ilfracombe. The building is constructed of stucco with painted quoins on the upper floors and consists of three storeys plus a cellar. It features three windows on the front facade, which has a public house frontage with panelled pilasters that support a fascia board. The glazing is from the 20th century and consists of small panes.
There is a recessed doorway with a four-panelled door that is topped by an overlight with margin glazing. The upper floors have architraved sash windows, with the first floor showcasing enriched friezes and cornices. The central sash window on this floor is distinguished by a segmental pediment instead of a cornice, while the second floor features enriched sill brackets. The building is capped with an entablature that has a projecting mutule cornice. The rear elevation is slate hung. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have a moulded cornice in the hall.
