Description

This is a block of three terraced houses located on High Street in Ilfracombe. The building dates to the early 19th century. It is constructed of stucco with slate roofs, although the roof of number 16 has been replaced with a synthetic material. The building is three storeys high with attics, and each house originally had two windows. 20th-century shopfronts now occupy the ground floor. The upper floors are decorated with pilaster strips and horizontal bands at the first-floor level and eaves. The windows are architraved hornless 12-pane sashes, with the exception of the first floor windows at number 16, which are 2-pane sashes. The interiors remain unexamined. Numbers 15, 16, and 17 form a group of listed buildings along High Street.
