Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of houses located on Friar Gate. The buildings are constructed of stucco, painted brick, and roughcast, and extend over three storeys. They feature seven sash windows with single glazing bars and stone lintels, along with moulded stone eaves and a blocking course. The gabled ends are stone-coped and tiled. Later 19th century shop fronts are present, incorporating modern glazing. A wood pilaster doorway is located to the left of number 39, featuring a cornice hood supported by brackets, a rectangular fanlight, and a modern door. The buildings are included in the listing for their group value.
