Description
32 Friar Gate is a mid-18th century building constructed of red brick. It stands three storeys tall and features five modern sash windows without glazing bars. The building has a high stone plinth, and the centre section projects slightly forward, showcasing one window with a moulded surround on the first storey and channelled lintels above the ground storey windows. A heavy moulded stone cornice and a small parapet crown the structure. The entrance is framed by a Tuscan doorcase with engaged columns, a moulded pediment, a traceried fanlight, and a five-panelled door. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 27 to 32, the Friar Gate Railway Bridge, and Nos 35 to 51 on Friar Gate.
