Description

No 47 on Ford Street is an early 19th-century building, though it likely has origins in the 17th century. It is constructed of red brick and has two storeys. The left side features two sash windows, with the ground floor windows having shutters and modern leaded lights. There is a plain doorway with a cowered head. The right side is slightly lower and has one later casement window and a plain doorway with a rectangular fanlight. The building has plain eaves and a tiled roof. No 47 is part of a group that includes Nos 27 to 32 on Friar Gate, the Friar Gate Railway Bridge, and Nos 35 to 39 and 41 to 51 on Friar Gate.
