Description
No. 45 Friar Gate is a mid-18th century building constructed of red brick. It stands three storeys high and features three sash windows with keyblocks and channelled lintels, although there are no glazing bars. The entrance has a modern brick doorcase, and the building is topped with a moulded eaves cornice and slate roofing. To the right side, there is a recessed, three-storeyed wing with one window above a rusticated segmental coach arch. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 27 to 32, the Friar Gate Railway Bridge, and Nos. 35 to 39, as well as Nos. 41 to 51 on Friar Gate.
