Description
The Wheatsheaf Hotel is a public house built in the late 18th century, with some minor alterations from the 20th century. The building features lined stucco with rusticated quoins and a partly hipped slate roof, which has rendered gable and ridge stacks. It is designed in an L-plan and stands three stories tall with a three-bay front. The central entrance has a 20th-century door set in a pilastered surround, topped by a flat hood supported by moulded brackets, and is flanked by two 20th-century three-light casement windows. On the first floor, there are three glazing bar sash windows, while the second floor has three smaller similar windows. All the windows have shallow cambered heads and keystones. At the rear, there is a lower two-storey service range. The building is included in the register for its group value only.
