Description
The Old Maltings at Westholme House is a former maltings building, now used as a workshop and store, dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring painted ashlar dressings and a hipped pantile roof with dentillated eaves. The building is two storeys high and originally included a cellar, presenting a four-bay front. The ground floor has recessed semi-circular arches, complete with impost and key blocks. There are off-centre double planked doors with an overlight, a single window to the left, and a pair of glazing bar lights to the right. On the first floor, there are two similar windows, all featuring flat ashlar lintels and keystones. To the left of the first floor are two late 19th-century four-light workshop windows. Under the eaves, there are two Diocletian ventilators with keystones. The interior retains contemporary floors, ogee-headed lamp recesses, and a fireplace and flue originally used for the maltings.
