Description
No. 50 is a shop located on a sloping site, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of coursed, squared rubble, with the ground floor rendered. It features a moulded cast-iron gutter and a graduated slate roof, topped with a stone chimney that has rounded corners at the south end. The structure has two storeys and two bays. On the left side, there is a part-glazed door next to a shop window. To the right, steps lead up to the entrance of Yard 52, with the north wall of the passage constructed from what appears to be re-used 17th-century wooden panelling. Above the shop window, there is a paired sash window with wide glazing bars, and remains of earlier, blocked openings can be seen.
