Description
35 and 37 Market Place are shops located on a sloping site, likely built in the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. No 35 features tooled ashlar stonework and a moulded cast-iron gutter supported by dentils. No 37 has incised stucco with a similar gutter design. Both properties have graduated slate roofs and rendered chimneys at the east end. They are three storeys high. No 35 has a corniced wooden shop front with a 20th-century glazed door and a plate-glass window, along with a 16-pane sash window on the first floor and two sashes on the second floor. No 37 has a late 20th-century shop front with a single sash window on each floor above, with the second-floor window being smaller.
