Description

Nos 47 and 49 Branthwaite Brow is a shop located on a sloping site in the Market Place of Kendal. It was built on the site of properties that were demolished in 1851 when the road was widened. The building has undergone later alterations and is constructed of rendered rubble with a graduated slate roof and a rendered chimney at the south end. It is two storeys high and features two bays. The shop front has a corniced wooden design with a 20th-century glazed door situated between arcaded windows. Above, there are two 16-pane sash windows. This building is included partly for its group value.
