Description
No. 9 Lowther Street is a shop located on a sloping site, built around 1782 with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of snecked rubble and features an eaves cornice. It has a graduated slate roof with a stone chimney at the east end. The structure consists of three storeys and a cellar, with two bays. The shop front includes a glazed shop door, a panelled door to the right, and an arcaded shop window to the left, which provides access to the cellar below. All these elements are framed within a 19th-century corniced wooden surround. Each upper floor has two sash windows with glazing bars.
