Description

No. 51 Market Place is a shop that likely dates from the late 18th century, with some later alterations. The front is rendered and colour-washed, while the rear is constructed of coursed rubble stone, featuring a brick end stack and a pantile roof. The building is two stories high with a two-window front. To the right, there is a glazed shop door with an overlight, next to a square-pane shop window. On the first floor, there are two large-pane sliding sash windows with painted timber lintels and stone sills. At the rear, there are two blocked openings on the ground floor, located beneath a timber lintel at the first floor level. The building was unoccupied at the time of review and is included for its group value only.
