Description
22 and 24 Market Place is a shop and offices building dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is made of painted brick in Flemish bond and features a timber eaves cornice. It has coped gables with shaped kneelers and brick end stacks, topped by a pantile roof. The building is three stories high with a three-window front. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front that includes an entrance to the upper floors on the left side. The first-floor windows consist of 12-pane sashes on the left and a 16-pane sash on the right, all featuring painted flat arches. The second floor has squat 6-pane sashes on the left and an 8-pane sash on the right, with all windows having painted stone sills. A prominent moulded eaves cornice adds to the building's character. At the rear, there are unequal 9-pane sashes with painted timber lintels on the first floor and a stepped eaves band.
