Description

The boundary stone, dated 1849, is located approximately 1,600 yards south-west of Nenthead in a field on the south side of the road. This rectangular stone stands about 5 feet high and features carved Roman lettering on its dressed south face, which reads "G & Co 1849." This inscription refers to Governor & Co., an alternative name for the London Lead Company.
