This is a milestone located to the north of Woodbrae, dating from the early 19th century and associated with the Alston Turnpike Trust. The milestone is a single stone that stands approximately 2 feet high and 1.5 feet wide, featuring a semicircular top. It is painted white, with carved sans-serif lettering on the front face that is highlighted in black, indicating the distances: "TO ALSTON 4 MILES, NENTHEAD ½ MILE."
