Description

Killhope Cross is a boundary marker of uncertain date, possibly medieval, that was moved to its current location in the 18th century. It is a single stone, approximately 3 feet high, shaped like a Latin cross and stands on a square base that features a bench mark. The stone has carved lettering on all faces, although it is much weathered. It is situated on the border between Cumbria and County Durham.
