Description
The forecourt walls, gate piers, and central gate at the front of Ivy House date from the 19th century. The low wall at the front and the south return is constructed of coursed rubble, with later copings that mimic battlements. There are two steps leading up to the central gate, which features spiral curtails and an original wrought-iron bootscraper at the bottom. The rusticated gate piers are narrow, monolithic slabs topped with small ball finials. This structure is included for its group value.
