Description
Number 1 Dene Terrace is a Grade II listed building located in Overwater, Nenthead, originally built as two houses in the early 19th century, now combined into one. It sits on a corner site and is constructed from coursed, squared rubble that has been lime-washed. The building features a graduated stone flag roof with stone coping at the north end and has stone chimneys at both the mid and end sections.
The structure is two storeys high with a four-bay east elevation. This elevation includes three bays from the original house, featuring a central plank door flanked by two sash windows on the ground floor, and two sash windows above. The sash window on the right side of the ground floor belonged to the second house. The north elevation has a central plank door situated between two windows, with one sash window located above. All sash windows are fitted with glazing bars.
