Description
Jack Cooks Cottage is a Grade II listed building, formerly two houses, now a detached house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of random and coursed rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and a concrete tile roof. The building is square, two-storey with an attic, featuring gable ends to the north and southeast. A ridge-mounted chimney with a plain cap is present. There are lean-to additions at both ends.
The east front has a full central gable with two-window fenestration positioned between two large buttresses that have raking tops. The central doorway has a plain opening with a 20th-century door and a timber gabled porch, which includes a combining hoodmould above. Flanking the doorway are two-light chamfered mullioned casements. The upper floor features similar casements with a combining hoodmould, and there is a central two-light attic window with a hoodmould. The rear has a catslide roof that extends over the addition, with an angled rear wall built along the road line.
The interior has not been inspected.
