Description
Box Cottage is a small detached house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with ashlar dressings and features an ashlar chimney topped with brick. The roof is made of stone slate. The building is two-storey with an attic, and there are single-storey additions at both ends.
The southeast front has a two-window arrangement, with all windows being 2-light chamfered mullioned casements that include hoodmoulds. To the left, there are 20th-century glazed doors with a concrete lintel. The end gables each have a single-window arrangement. At the rear, the cottage is built into a bank and has a single upper floor timber fixed-light window with a timber lintel. A tall off-centre chimney is also present. The interior has not been inspected.
