Description

Morningside is a former group of houses that has been converted into a detached house. It dates from the late 17th century, with additions from the mid 18th century and mid 19th century. The building is constructed from random and coursed rubble limestone, with ashlar and brick chimneys, and features a stone slate roof. It is two stories high with an attic and has an irregular plan due to its accumulation over time.

On the southwest side, there are two projecting gables, with the right gable being the earlier one. Each floor of this gable has a single two-light chamfered mullioned casement, and the ground floor has a hoodmould that extends to the right, partially obscured by a later addition. The range continues to the right and consists of two builds, each with a single two-light casement on each floor, except for a three-light casement on the left ground floor.

On the northeast side, there is a central projecting single-storey addition featuring a fixed-light window to the right of a doorway, which has a plank door beneath a continuous timber lintel. To the right, there are glazed doors with a part leaded casement above, both supported by timber lintels. To the left, there are 20th-century metal casements. The northwest end shows the side of a later addition with mixed casements that have timber lintels, and later 19th-century casements with stone lintels to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
