Description
Alberta Cottages, No 1, is a small detached house built in the early 18th century, with a 19th-century addition. The structure is made of random and coursed rubble limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic and has a two-storey rear wing.
The south front has two windows with two-light chamfered mullioned casements, each with hoodmoulds. There is a central doorway with a lean-to porch hood and a 20th-century glazed door. The gable ends are on the east and west sides; the east side has a chimney with a plain cap, while the west side has a blocked upper floor doorway at road level and a central attic fixed-light. The rear wing includes a gable-mounted rendered chimney. A 20th-century flat-roofed rear addition is present but is not of special interest.
The interior has not been inspected.
