Description
This boundary stone, located approximately 3 feet west of Cathow Bridge on the north side of the road, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is a monolithic sandstone block standing about 2 feet high, featuring a semicircular head. The stone has inscriptions in Roman lettering on both faces: the east face reads "NETHER WASDALE," while the west face reads "GOSFORTH."
