Description
Nos 47A, 49, and 51 on Kirkgate are buildings dating from the 18th century. They feature scored stucco and cement render, with projecting stone quoins that have V joints. The buildings have a slate roof and are two storeys tall, with cellars. Each has three panelled doors set in moulded stone architraves, along with three sash windows on each floor, also framed in moulded stone.
In front of these buildings is a long and narrow cobbled forecourt that extends from Nos 27 to 55, without any divisions or railings, and is open to the pavement.
These buildings, along with Nos 13, 17 to 25 (odd), 31 to 55 (odd), No 38, and Nos 46 to 86 (even), as well as Kirkgate House, form a group of significant structures.
