KIRKGATE (East Side) Nos 37 & 39 Cobbled forecourt to Nos 37 & 39.

Late C18. Scored stucco, stone band, moulded eaves cornice on brackets, slate roof, 2 storeys. Passage entry contains door to No 37. No 39 has panelled door in C10 moulded architrave with trefoil pediment. 3 sash windows on ground floor with triangular pediments, and 4 sash windows above with segmental pediments. The cobbled forecourt is long and narrow, extending in front of Nos 27 to 55, without divisions or railings, and open to the pavement.

Nos 13, Nos 17 to 25 (odd), Nos 31 to 55 (odd), No 38, Nos 46 to 86 (even) together with Nos 47A and Kirkgate House form a group.
