Description
Kirkgate House is an early 19th-century house situated on the west side of Kirkgate. It is roughcast with a slate roof and features pilaster strips. The house is two storeys high and is larger than the surrounding properties, set back behind a garden. A six-panelled door is set within a plain stone frame, above which is a plain fanlight. There are two sash windows with vertical glazing bars and plain stone dressings on the ground floor and three above. The house forms a group with numbers 13, 17 to 25 (odd), 31 to 55 (odd), 38, 46 to 86 (even), 47A, and the surrounding buildings along Kirkgate.
