KIRKGATE (East Side) Nos 45 & 47. Cobbled forecourt to Nos 45 & 47.

GV II*

The best houses in a good group, No 47 being the better of the two. Late C18. Cement rendered. Slate roofs, 2 storeys, moulded eaves cornice. No 45 has 3-centred arch with V-jointed voussoirs to carriage entrance on left, a panelled door in moulded stone architraves, 2 sash windows on ground floor and 4 above, all in moulded stone frames. No 47 has projecting stone quoins with V joints, centre panelled door with round fanlight in a round-arched doorway with Tuscan pilasters and open pediment, 2 sashes down, 3 up in moulded stone frames. The cobbled forecourt is long and narrow, extending in front of Nos 27 to 55, without divisions or railings, and open to the pavement.

Nos 13, Nos 17 to 25 (odd), Nos 31 to 55 (odd), No 38, Nos 46 to 86 (even) together with Nos 47A and Kirkgate House form a group.
