Description

Nos. 82 and 84 London Street are a pair of early 19th century buildings. No. 82 is a two-storey, two-window building with roughcast rendering and a slate roof with eaves soffit. It has sash windows and an entrance with a flat canopy supported by ornamental cast iron brackets. No. 84 is also two storeys, with five windows, and has roughcast rendering. It features flank pilasters, a stone cope, and a slate roof with eaves soffit. Many of its sash windows retain some glazing bars, and most are fitted with wooden louvred shutters. A three-light square bay window has stucco Doric pilasters and an entablature. The entrance door has two vertical panels, leading to a stone Doric porch. A paved and cobbled forecourt is enclosed by a low wall. The east return, facing Pound Road, presents three gables and two rounded bay projections with glazing bars to the windows; a Jalousy is present in the centre window. Nos. 62 to 84 (even) are regarded as a group.
