Description

Probably dating to the late 18th century, with subsequent alterations, numbers 78 and 80 London Street are a pair of buildings under a single roof. They are constructed of amber brick, although number 80 has a limewashed façade. The roofs are slate-covered. The buildings are two storeys high and feature three windows on each level, including a blank recess at the first floor level above the entrances. The windows are sash windows with side glazing bars, set in near-flush frames. Number 78 has an entrance door with a frosted glass panel at the upper part, and its ground floor windows are topped with flat arches that have the appearance of voussoirs. Number 80 has a six-panel flush entrance door and a shallow iron trellis porch. The buildings stand within a garden and paved forecourt. Numbers 62 to 84 (even) are grouped together as a composition.
