Description
Nos. 27 and 28 Watchbell Street are a pair of houses dating to the early 19th century, though No. 27 retains moulded ceiling beams from the 15th century. The houses are three storeys high and have five windows in total. They are stuccoed and have a parapet. The original glazing bars are largely intact, except for those in the large, ground-floor canted bay window of No. 28. No. 27 has a doorway with Doric pilasters, a rectangular fanlight, and a cornice above. No. 28 has a round-headed doorway with a semi-circular fanlight. Nos. 27 to 30, along with Nos. 20 to 46 (even) and No. 33 Church Square, form a group.
