Description
St Anthony of Padua is a timber-framed house dating from the 15th century, located on the west side of Church Square. The building has two storeys and features four windows facing east and one facing south. The first floor is studded and overhangs on both fronts, supported by a moulded bressumer with curved brackets beneath. There are two small modern bay windows on the ground floor and one dormer. The roof is tiled. The east front has an obtusely pointed doorway at its center, with spandrels carved with a Tudor rose and leaves. According to the Victoria County History, the house, previously numbered 13, has open timbered ceilings and roof, as well as a 16th-century fireplace. St Anthony of Padua is part of a group with Nos 48 to 64 (even).
