Description

Thomas House is a timber-framed house dating from around 1500. It has two storeys and three bays, with the northernmost bay featuring projecting moulded windows on carved brackets, each consisting of five lights on both floors. Between the framing are three panels that display diamond timber ornamentation. The other bays contain old timbers, but the windows and door have been modernized. The house has a tiled roof with one modern dormer. According to the Victoria County History, the central chimney stack includes large open brick fireplaces. Thomas House is part of a group that includes Nos 1 and 2 Norman House, The Tower House, Lamb House, Nos 13 to 17 in succession, and No 1 Mermaid Street.
